  • Biography

    Julio Alvarenga Thiebaud, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of the Division of Hematology and Oncology

    Dr. Alvarenga Theibaud earned his medical degree at National Autonomous University of Honduras. He completed internal medicine residency training and radiation oncology residency training at hospitals in Mexico City, followed by additional internal medicine residency training at Bridgeport Hospital in Connecticut. He completed advanced training through fellowships in hematology and oncology at Howard University in Washington D.C. and Temple University in Philadelphia, as well as a fellowship in hematopoetic stem cell transplantation and cellular therapy at City of Hope National Medical Center in Duarte, California. 

    Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in hematology and oncology, Dr. Alvarenga Thiebaud joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2023. He sees patients at Clements University Hospital and the Simmons Cancer Center Outpatient Building.
