Biography Kirang Patel, M.D., is an Assistant Professor of Radiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Community Radiology Division. Dr. Patel serves as the Department of Radiology’s Medical Director of Communications. His clinical interests include head and neck imaging, head and neck oncology, and education. He holds a bachelor’s degree in human biology from the University of Texas in Austin and earned his medical degree at St. George’s School of Medicine. He completed his diagnostic radiology residency at the University of Missouri at Kansas City, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Patel then received advanced training through a fellowship program in Neuroradiology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, where he stayed on as Faculty in 2022. A commitment to education Dr. Patel is passionate about medical education and serves as the Director of the Clinician Educators in Radiology Track for the UTSW Radiology Residency Program and is on several committees overseeing radiology resident and fellow education and training. He also serves as a department advisor for students applying to radiology residency. He has also been recognized with multiple outstanding teaching awards. Dr. Patel is an active member of local, state, and national radiological societies including the American College of Radiology, American Society of Neuroradiology, and Texas Radiological Society, where he assumes leadership roles in numerous committees. He is a patient advocate and serves on the executive board for the national Radiology Advocacy Network.
