  • Biography

    Abiara Agwu, M.D., M.B.A., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

    Dr. Agwu earned her medical degree at the UTHealth Houston McGovern Medical School, where she also completed a residency in pediatrics and served as Chief Resident. She received advanced training in pediatric hospital medicine through a fellowship at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. In addition, Dr. Agwu holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Arizona.

    She joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2022.

    Dr. Agwu has delivered numerous presentations and published peer-reviewed articles related to her areas of expertise. Her interest in clinical medical education includes a special focus on medical education, senior resident autonomy, and hospital operations.

    She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Academic Pediatric Association.
