Saket Girotra, M.D.

Saket Girotra, M.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center, and a member of its Division of Cardiology. 

Originally from New Delhi, India, Dr. Girotra earned his medical degree at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi. He also earned a master's degree in epidemiology from the Harvard University School of Public Health in Boston. He completed internal medicine residency training at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, and then obtained advanced training through fellowships in cardiovascular medicine and interventional cardiology at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, where he served as Chief Fellow.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in cardiology and interventional cardiology, Dr. Girotra joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2022. He was previously an Associate Professor with Tenure at the University of Iowa. 

Dr. Girotra is a member of the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology. He is also a Guest Editor of the journal Circulation: CV Quality & Outcomes, and an Ad Hoc Reviewer of several journals and other publications.

Dr. Girotra's research interests include cardiology, interventional cardiology, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest and COVID-19, and out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. His investigations have resulted in over 100 peer-reviewed publications and several reviews and book chapters.
