Mortadha Al-Kinani, M.D. Titles and Appointments Clinical Assistant Professor Schools Medical School Departments Radiology Biography Mortadha Al-Kinani, M.D., is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He has advanced subspecialty training in cardiothoracic imaging, advanced cardiac imaging, and neuroradiology, with additional completed fellowship training in body MRI and abdominal imaging. Dr. Al-Kinani earned his medical degree from the College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad in 2008. He subsequently completed extensive clinical service and residency training at Baghdad Teaching Hospital, where he developed a broad foundation in diagnostic radiology, cross-sectional imaging, and multidisciplinary patient care. At UT Southwestern, Dr. Al-Kinani completed fellowship training in cardiothoracic imaging, body MRI, abdominal imaging, advanced cardiac imaging, and neuroradiology. His current clinical interests focus on cardiothoracic imaging, cardiovascular CT, cardiac MRI, and neuroradiology. He is particularly interested in advanced cross-sectional imaging, imaging protocol optimization, complex cardiovascular and thoracic disease, and brain and spine imaging. Dr. Al-Kinani is committed to patient-centered imaging care, resident and fellow education, multidisciplinary collaboration, and academic radiology. His academic interests include advanced cardiac imaging, cardiovascular and neurovascular disease, neuroimaging, and emerging applications of artificial intelligence in radiology.
