Biography Reynaldo Sanchez, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and is a member of its Division of Cardiology. His clinical interests include prevention of cardiovascular disease and non-invasive cardiovascular testing. Originally from Texas, Dr. Sanchez holds a bachelor's degree in biological sciences from Northwestern University in Illinois. He earned his medical degree at the University of Illinois, and then completed internal medicine residency training at Ohio State University. He obtained additional training in general cardiology through a fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Sanchez joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2024. Dr. Sanchez' research interests include healthcare disparities and their cardiovascular implications. His investigations have resulted in publications in peer-reviewed journals and he has presented his findings at scientific conferences. Dr. Sanchez is a member of several professional societies, including the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, and the American Society for Preventive Cardiology. In 2023, Dr. Sanchez was honored with the American Heart Association's Laennec Fellow in Training Clinician Award. Dr. Sanchez enjoys cooking, reading, traveling and working out in his free time away from work.
