Biography Alex Jones, M.D., is an Assistant Instructor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Department of General Internal Medicine. Originally from New Hampshire, Dr. Jones earned his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. He is currently completing his internal medicine residency at UT Southwestern, where he serves as Chief Resident. Dr. Jones joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2024. He believes it is a privilege to train and practice in a health system that serves a diverse patient base with complex medical issues, while forging the way forward in medicine through cutting edge research. Dr. Jones research interests include medical education, survivorship after liver transplantation, and management of pancreatic cysts. He has delivered presentations at academic conferences and contributed his findings to peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Jones is active in several professional societies, including the American Medical Association, the American College of Physicians, and the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases. Outside of medicine, Dr. Jones enjoys hiking, skiing, golfing, cooking, and visiting national parks.
