Biography Caroline Horton, M.D., is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Division of Hospital Medicine-PHHS. Her clinical activities are based at Parkland Hospital. Originally from South Carolina, Dr. Horton holds a bachelor's degree in biology and biochemistry from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem North Carolina. She earned her medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and completed internal medicine residency training at UT Southwestern. Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2024. Dr. Horton is active in the American Medical Association, American College of Physicians, and the Institute for Healthcare Improvement. Outside of work, Dr. Horton enjoys yoga, cooking, dance, and tending to her indoor plants. She became a physician to learn what it means to live a healthy life. While this may look different for everyone, her goal is to help her patients find theirs.
