Jenna Keelan, M.D.

Jenna Keelan, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in fetal cardiac imaging and congenital heart disease at Children’s Medical Center Dallas.

Dr. Keelan is the Medical Director of the Fetal Heart Program at UT Southwestern. She is an active physician-scientist and is a principal investigator on grant-funded studies addressing prenatal counseling for single ventricle heart disease. Her research interests include fetal heart disease counseling, cardiac imaging outcomes in congenital heart conditions, and assessment tools for fetal cardiology education. Dr. Keelan has authored publications and case reports in cardiology and pediatric journals. She became a member of the faculty in 2021.

Dr. Keelan earned a bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in economics from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania. She earned her medical degree at New York University School of Medicine, followed by a pediatric residency at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. She completed her fellowship in pediatric cardiology at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center and Weill Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Keelan completed an advanced pediatric cardiac imaging fellowship at Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital in New York, New York.

Dr. Keelan is a member of the Fetal Heart Society and the American Society of Echocardiography. She also is a member of the Society of Pediatric Echocardiography, for which she serves on education subcommittees. She is a steering committee member of the International Fetal Ebstein Anomaly and Tricuspid Valve Dysplasia (FEAT) Registry and contributes to the Children’s Heart Center Research Facilitation Committee.
