Malay Chaklader, Ph.D. Instructor School Medical School Department Internal Medicine Biography Malay Chaklader, Ph.D., is an Assistant Instructor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of the Division of Cardiology. Originally from West Bengal, India, Dr. Chaklader holds a bachelor's degree in Biotechnology and a master's degree in Biotechnology from the University of Burdwan in West Bengal, India. He received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Calcutta, School of Tropical Medicine. He completed postdoctoral research fellowships at the University of South Dakota in Sioux Falls, at KU Leuven in Belgium , and at Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, OH. Dr. Chaklader joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2022. Dr. Chaklader's research interests include mouse research, stem cells, and pesticide toxicity in humans. His investigations have resulted in 26 peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Chaklader is active in many professional societies, including the American Society of Nephrology, the American Heart Association, the American Society of Cell Biology, and the American Society of Human Genetics.
