Gayane Tumyan, M.D., is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Division of Endocrinology. She specializes in general endocrinology, diabetes, and thyroid conditions.

Dr. Tumyan holds a bachelor's degree from Yerevan State Medical University in Armenia, where she also earned her medical degree. She completed a residency in internal medicine at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas and received advanced training through an endocrinology and metabolism fellowship at UT Southwestern.

She joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2025.

Her work frequently explores adrenal insufficiency following radiotherapy for adrenal metastases, rare or acute endocrine emergencies such as hypercalcemia, diabetic myonecrosis, and primary hyperaldosteronism, as well as atypical presentations of pituitary and thyroid dysfunction. Across her publications and presentations, she consistently examines how endocrine pathology intersects with oncology, infectious disease, and critical illness, reflecting a broader interest in improving diagnosis and management of uncommon but clinically significant endocrine conditions.
