Biography
James Lyons, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of the Division of Hospital Medicine.
Originally from Gadsden, Alabama, Dr. Lyons holds a bachelor's degree in biology from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama, where he graduated magna cum laude. He earned his medical degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He completed internal medicine residency training at Tulane University in New Orleans.
Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Lyons joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2020. He's currently a hospitalist for Parkland Health and Hospital System.
Personal Note
His interests outside of medicine include tennis, basketball, and travel.
