Biography

Dr. Chilakamarry earned his medical degree at Kakatiya Medical College in India. He completed a residency in general surgery at Yale-New Haven Hospital and received advanced training in colorectal surgery through a fellowship at Brown University Medical School.

Certified by the American Board of Surgery, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2020.

Dr. Chilakamarry is a candidate member of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (ASCRS) and a member of the American College of Surgeons and the Indian Medical Council. He has contributed to the book Lung Cancer: A Practical Approach to Evidence-Based Clinical Evaluation and Management.

In 2019, he received the award for Outstanding Resident Teaching and Leadership by a Chief Resident.
