Biography

Dr. Jones earned both her medical degree and master’s of public health in epidemiology at Tulane University. She completed a residency in neurology at Emory University and received advanced training in vascular neurology through a fellowship at the UT Health Science Center at Houston.

Certified in neurology and vascular neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2020.

Dr. Jones’ clinical and research interests include health disparities in stroke care, global access to stroke care, stroke prevention, stroke recovery, and the effect of social determinants of health on stroke outcomes. With increasing incidence of stroke in vulnerable populations, her clinical and research focus is fundamental to improving global cerebrovascular health. She has delivered numerous invited lectures and published several academic articles related to these topics. In addition, she is a site investigator and co-investigator in national clinical trials that are advancing research in treatment of cerebrovascular diseases. Her current work on racial disparities in stroke treatment was awarded KL2 funding in 2023. She is Clinical Director of Outpatient Vascular Neurology Clinics at UT Southwestern and Parkland Hospitals.
