  • Biography

    Ajay Kohli, M.D., M.B.A. is an Assistant Professor of Radiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center, and a member of its Musculoskeletal Radiology Division. He also serves as Associate Medical Informatics Officer for Parkland Health & Hospital System.

    Dr. Kohli received his bachelor’s degree in three years from Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where remained to obtain his medical degree. After completing an internship in general surgery at Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, New York, Dr. Kohli received radiology residency training at the University of Pennsylvania, where he also received additional training through a mini-fellowship program in cardiovascular and thoracic radiology.

    Prior to joining the faculty in 2021, Dr. Kohli completed advanced training through a fellowship in musculoskeletal imaging and interventions at UT Southwestern.

    Dr. Kohli is a member of several professional organizations, including the Radiological Society of North America, the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine, and the American College of Radiology, which he serves as a member of its Informatics Committee. He also serves as a member of the editorial board for the Journal of Medical AI.

    With a background in technology, entrepreneurship, and finance, Dr. Kohli enjoys working with innovators to improve healthcare delivery. He has spearheaded several clinical studies using innovative technological platforms. These include using wearable technology to apply real-time histopathologic analytics during surgical oncology cases. Additionally, he has built two mobile platforms to manage chronic heart failure and streamline care for patients with breast cancer as well as survivors of the disease.
