Biography Dr. O’Connor grew up in Galveston, Texas and attended The University of Texas at Austin as an undergraduate with a major in cell and molecular biology. She earned her medical degree at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. She completed her pediatric residency at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami. She is completed her pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. She joined UTSW faculty as an Instructor in the Department of Pediatrics. Her research explores how the gut microbiome influences the anti-tumor response in pediatric leukemia patients receiving chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy. She is a member of Andrew Y. Koh’s lab. Her clinical interests include leukemia/lymphoma, lymphoproliferative disorders, and immune-mediated treatment for cancer.
