Biography Shannon Murray, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. Her clinical interests include chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), lung cancer screening, and asthma. Dr. Murray holds a bachelor's degree with honors in biology from the University of Kansas. She earned her medical degree at The University of Texas at San Antonio and completed internal medicine residency training at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. She completed advanced training in pulmonary and critical care medicine through a fellowship at UT Southwestern. Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine and pulmonary medicine, Dr. Murray joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2023. Dr. Murray has published investigations in peer-reviewed journals and delivered presentations at conferences. She is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians. In her free time, Dr. Murray enjoys yoga, biking, and traveling.
