Biography
Fernando Daniel Hayetian, M.D., FACS, specializes in general and acute care surgery.
Dr. Hayetian earned his medical degree at the University of Buenos Aires School of Medicine. He performed a residency in general surgery at Centro Gallego de Buenos Aires/Argentina and then continued his training at Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh, where he completed a research fellowship in general and minimally invasive surgery and a second residency in general surgery. While in Pittsburgh, he served as a general surgeon in the region and was Chair of the Department of Surgery at Allegheny Valley Hospital.
Certified by the American Board of Surgery, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2019.
Dr. Hayetian’s clinical and research interests include open and laparoscopic general surgery, emergent and elective cases, da Vinci robotic surgery, breast surgery, gallbladder surgery, colon surgery, wound care, colonoscopy, and endoscopy.
He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.
