    Dr. Krystle Campbell is a visionary leader at the forefront of experiential learning and education operations. Appointed as Assistant Vice President of Education Operations at UT Southwestern Medical Center, she brings a forward-thinking approach to advancing academic initiatives, optimizing educational strategies, and ensuring the effective execution of institutional priorities.

    For more than five years, Dr. Campbell served as Director of Simulation Center Operations, where she played a pivotal role in expanding and enhancing experiential learning programs, growing the center’s reach from 8,000 to 27,000 learners. She has been instrumental in designing and implementing cutting-edge learning experiences for students, trainees, faculty, and healthcare professionals in collaboration with key partners across Undergraduate Medical Education, Graduate Medical Education, the School of Health Professions, and the UT Southwestern Health System.

    Prior to joining UT Southwestern, Dr. Campbell led the University of Wisconsin Simulation Center, a joint initiative between the School of Medicine and Public Health and UW Health, where she successfully integrated experiential learning across the academic and clinical landscape. Her expertise in faculty development, organizational culture, interprofessional education, and emerging technology adoption has established her as a respected leader in the field.

    Dr. Campbell holds a Doctorate in Health Administration from the Medical University of South Carolina and a Master of Science in Medical and Healthcare Simulation from Drexel University College of Medicine. A distinguished scholar, her research has focused on the adoption of innovative experiential learning methodologies, including the integration of Operating Room Black Box technology. She actively contributes to regional and national education organizations, including the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) and the Simulation Professionals of Texas, and leads SSH’s international efforts to establish guiding principles for AI adoption in experiential learning.

    Beyond her role at UT Southwestern, Dr. Campbell serves as a Tutor for the University of Edinburgh’s Master of Patient Safety Program and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Data and Management. Her global impact extends to educational program development in Ethiopia, reinforcing her commitment to advancing healthcare education and patient care worldwide.
