Biography Originally from Allen, TX, Dr. Wootton completed residency training in Internal Medicine at Vanderbilt University. Drawn to providing safe, efficient, and high value care to inpatients, Dr. Wootton began a career in Hospital Medicine at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. After 3 years of experience as a private hospitalist, she began work as an academic hospitalist with the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga, teaching residents and students full-time. Additionally, she developed and implemented a de novo longitudinal quality and safety curriculum for medical residents, as well as led many quality and safety initiatives as a physician advisor. Dr. Wootton is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Healthcare Quality and Safety through the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
