She earned her DMD from Oregon Health & Science University School of Dentistry in 2011. After practicing public health dentistry in New Mexico for 5 years, Dr. McLean undertook Texas A&M University College of Dentistry's oral and maxillofacial pathology residency program. She became a Fellow of the American Academy of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology in 2019. The following year, she worked as a research assistant at UT Southwestern while finishing her MS in oral biology at Texas A&M. Dr. McLean completed a clinical Instructorship in head and neck/endocrine pathology at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta in 2021, after which she returned to UT Southwestern. She is an Assistant Professor (and the first dentist!) in the Department of Pathology. Dr. McLean lives in Dallas with her husband, Jeff, and their two wire-haired dachshunds and Maine coon cat.
