  • Biography

Born and raised on the Southside of Chicago, I was fascinated by Orthopedic Surgery at an early age, as my older brother had numerous musculoskeletal injuries. I got to tag along for the doctor visits. My interest continued to grow through my experiences playing sports. I attended Saint Louis University and played Division I volleyball as a proud Billiken. I continued my education at Pacific Northwest College of Osteopathic Medicine for medical school in Yakima, WA and I continued to cultivate my passion for Orthopedic Surgery through amazing mentors.

I matched into residency in New Jersey and pursued a shoulder and elbow fellowship at the Carrell Clinic with Dr. Buz Burkhead as my fellowship director. I realized it is my calling to care for the unique needs of the elderly; so I completed a second fellowship at the University of Minnesota in Geriatric Orthopedic Trauma. My fellowship director, Dr. Julie Switzer developed this fellowship which is the only one of its kind. The curriculum focused solely on the Orthopedic and interdisciplinary care of elderly.

My area of expertise is fracture treatment of the elderly. I love taking care of these wonderful patients with their complex fractures. In addition to fracture care and caring for the frail elderly, my special interests include complex shoulder and elbow injuries. I am passionate about patient care and always put the patient’s best interest first! I try to explain things as thoroughly as possible and treat patients with compassion and respect.

I enjoy spending my free time reading, cooking, traveling, exploring different restaurants (as an amateur foodie), learning to be “Texan” (including learning how to two-step), and practicing the art of glass blowing.
