Biography
Tsuzumi Kanaoka, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of the Division of Hospital Medicine. Her clinical interests include general hospital medicine and high-value care.
Originally from Tottori, Japan, Dr. Kanaoka holds a bachelor's degree in integrative physiology from the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she graduated summa cum laude. She earned her medical degree at Dartmouth College’s Geisel School of Medicine in Hanover, New Hampshire, and then completed internal medicine residency training at UT Southwestern.
Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Kanaoka joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2022.
Dr. Kanaoka has published several academic articles related to her areas of expertise.
Personal Note
Outside of medicine, Dr. Kanaoka is interested in interior design and enjoys reading and spending time with family.
