  • Biography

I am an Assistant Professor of Family and Community Medicine with more than 15 years of clinical experience across academic, community, and safety-net settings. My work focuses on advancing cancer survivorship care, with particular attention to adult survivors of childhood, adolescent, and young adult cancers. As the inaugural Medical Director of the Onco-Primary Care Program at UT Southwestern, I have developed and lead a multidisciplinary team delivering comprehensive primary care and cancer survivorship care. Many patients seen in our program have histories of multiple cancers, chronic conditions, or elevated risk for future cancers.

As a physician I provide direct patient care and also work closely with physicians, physician assistants, and nurses who are specially trained to care for this complex and growing patient population. I am also the fellowship director for the Onco-Primary Care Program and lead educational efforts for training medical students, residents, and fellows in cancer survivorship.

My research examines care coordination, loss to follow-up, and the integration of primary and survivorship care, using qualitative methods and secondary data analysis to improve health outcomes and healthcare delivery for cancer survivors.
