  • Biography

    Joined UT Southwestern: 2020

    Clinical Interests: Dr. Amin is interested in General Neurology, inpatient Neurohospitalist medicine, and outpatient epilepsy care for underserved populations. He is board certified in Adult Neurology and Epilepsy. 

    Research: Dr. Amin has interests in quality improvement (QI), healthcare delivery innovation, cost-effectivness research, and other value-based care initiatives. He looks to promote these concepts within our training programs through didactics, project mentorship, and real-time clinical decision making. Recent projects include reducing avoidable neurological ED visits, improving dizziness care in the ED, and reducing epilepsy clinic no-show rates. 

    Trainee Education: Dr. Amin is active in teaching medical students, residents, and allied health students. He is a faculty mentor for the Student Interest Group in Neurology (SIGN). He was the Department of Neurology Resident Teacher of the Year award recipient 2021-2022. 

    Affiliations & Awards: Dr. Amin serves on the Parkland Health Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee, as well as the Parkland Neuroscience Performance Improvement & Action Committees. He serves on several UTSW Committees as well. He applies his interests in QI and related fields as the Medical Director of the inpatient General Neurology service at UTSW Clements University Hospital.
