  • Biography

    Katherine A. Smith, M.D. found her passion for complex gynecology and surgical endometriosis care during her residency at Vanderbilit University leading her to pursue a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS) at Cleveland Clinic Florida.  A Dallas native, Dr. Smith joined the faculty at UT Southwestern in 2022 bringing her blend of surgical expertise and compassion to our community.  She provides surgical and medical care for complex benign conditions including chronic pelvic pain, endometriosis, heavy periods, and fibroid disease.  She provides her patients the spectrum of treatment modalities including laparoscopic and robotic surgery.

     

    Beyond her clinical care, Dr. Smith is involved in the surgical education of residents and fellows.  She is active in clinical research and surgical mentorship.
