Biography Kara Goss, M.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. She also holds a secondary appointment in the Department of Pediatrics. Dr. Goss holds a bachelor's degree from Baylor University in Waco, Texas, where she graduated summa cum laude. She earned her medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. She then completed a combined residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at Indiana University in Indianapolis, followed by a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine. She was Chief Fellow. She later earned a fundamentals of clinical research certificate from the University of Wisconsin Institute of Clinical and Translational Research in Madison, Wisconsin. Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in critical care medicine and pulmonary disease, Dr. Goss joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2020. At UT Southwestern, Dr. Goss is the Co-Chair of the Women in Pulmonary Critical Care "Lung Ladies" Committee. she's also a member of the Internal Medicine Physician-Scientist Development Committee and the Pulmonary and Critical Care Curriculum Committee Research Subcommittee. Dr. Goss is a member of several professional societies, including the American College of Chest Physicians, the American Thoracic Society, the Pulmonary Hypertension Association, and the American Heart Association. Dr. Goss is the Principal Investigator for a research lab studying how premature birth affects the heart and lungs later in life. To learn more, visit her lab site.
