Jinhai Yu, Ph.D. Titles and Appointments Assistant Professor Schools Medical School Departments Center for Human Nutrition | Internal Medicine Biography Download Curriculum Vitae Jinhai Yu obtained his PhD in Cell Biology in 2014 from Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences for research on lipid droplet biology in brown adipose tissue and adrenal gland. From 2014-2018 he was a postdoctoral research scientist in Tsinghua Univeristy where he studied fatty acids and mTOR signaling. From 2018-2021 he was a postdoctoral research scientist in the Center for Human Nutrition at UT Southwestern where he studied non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) associated Cachexia. Now he focuses on studying how STK11/LKB1 mutants in NSCLC and CRC cause cachexia through GDF15 or other new mediators.
