  • Biography

    Dr. Luyu (Amber) Xie earned her PharmD from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and her Ph.D. in Epidemiology with a minor in Biostatistics from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. She is Co-Director of the Biostatistics and Data Science Core (BDSC) at UT Southwestern and serves on the Editorial Board of CHEST.

    Her research leverages real-world data, including surveys, electronic health records, and claims data, to improve understanding of chronic diseases such as asthma, obesity, and cardiovascular conditions. Using rigorous observational and data-driven approaches, she studies patterns of multimorbidity and treatment outcomes to inform disease management and intervention strategies. She is currently a Texas Health Resources (THR) Clinical Scholar focused on improving outcomes at the intersection of asthma and obesity using real-world data. Dr. Xie has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals, including JAMA Pediatrics, JAMA Network Open, and Circulation. She is a member of the Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health, the American Heart Association, and the International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology.
