Luyu “Amber” Xie, Ph.D., PHARM.D. Titles and Appointments Assistant Professor Schools School of Public Health Departments Public Health Biography Dr. Luyu (Amber) Xie earned her PharmD from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and her Ph.D. in Epidemiology with a minor in Biostatistics from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. She is Co-Director of the Biostatistics and Data Science Core (BDSC) at UT Southwestern and serves on the Editorial Board of CHEST. Her research leverages real-world data, including surveys, electronic health records, and claims data, to improve understanding of chronic diseases such as asthma, obesity, and cardiovascular conditions. Using rigorous observational and data-driven approaches, she studies patterns of multimorbidity and treatment outcomes to inform disease management and intervention strategies. She is currently a Texas Health Resources (THR) Clinical Scholar focused on improving outcomes at the intersection of asthma and obesity using real-world data. Dr. Xie has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals, including JAMA Pediatrics, JAMA Network Open, and Circulation. She is a member of the Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health, the American Heart Association, and the International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology.
