Biography

Dr. Walker is originally from Northern Virginia and received her medical training at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. She has a passion for delivering high-quality medical care to underserved populations, and has worked on public health care projects in inner-city Los Angeles, CA and Baltimore, MD. Internationally, she has worked in medical clinics and hospitals in Guadalajara, Mexico, Paris, France, and Nouakchott, Mauritania. Her interest in cancer care and prevention led her to Kampala, Uganda where she worked with a research team to identify risk factors for Hepatocellular Carcinoma. She was drawn to UTSW to continue acquiring skills in inpatient medicine while working with a diverse patient population alongside colleagues who are leaders in their fields. Dr. Walker’s interests outside of medicine include yoga, learning new languages, and exploring the outdoors.
