Carissia Calvo, M.D., is a surgical oncologist who specializes in the surgical management of benign breast disease and breast cancer, as well as oncoplastic surgery.

Dr. Calvo earned her medical degree at Texas A&M College of Medicine. She completed a residency in general surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, during which time she was selected to serve as Administrative Chief Resident and was an active member of the residency education and advisory committee. During her chief resident year, Dr. Calvo was awarded the Raleigh R. Ross Texas Surgical Society Scholarship. She then received advanced training in breast surgical oncology through a fellowship at UT Southwestern. 

Certified by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Calvo joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2019.

She is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Breast Surgeons, and the Society of Surgical Oncology.
