Biography Jiexin Wang, M.D., Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Division of Digestive and Liver Diseases. She specializes in inflammatory bowel disease. Originally from China, Dr. Wang received her medical education at Zhejiang University School of Medicine. She then earned a doctorate in lipid metabolism from the University of California Los Angeles, where she embarked on postdoctoral research in the Peter Tontonoz lab. She completed internal medicine residency training at UT Southwestern, followed by fellowship training in gastroenterology. Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine and in gastroenterology, Dr. Wang joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2024. Dr. Wang's research interests include inflammatory bowel disease. Dr. Wang is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation, American College of Gastroenterology, and American Soceity for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
