Biography

Dr. Alikhan is originally from India.  He immigrated with his family at age 11 to the DFW area.  He attending the University of Texas at Austin and received his B.S. in Biology.  Dr. Alikhan participated in research at the Texas Research Initiative during his undergraduate training.  He also enjoyed mentoring and tutoring students in Austin.  He attended the University of North Texas, Health Science Center, in Ft. Worth for his medical school training.  He was awarded 2nd place at the UNT Research Appreciation Day for his work on Telomerase protein while attending medical school.  He moved to Houston for an Internal Medicine/Pediatrics combined residency training.  Dr. Alikhan's areas of interest are hospitalist medicine, preventative care and care for the indigent.  He enjoys traveling, following politics, tryhing new restaurants and spending time with his nieces and nephews.
