Biography

Dr. Alikhan immigrated with his family at age 11 to the DFW area.  He attending the University of Texas at Austin where he received his Bachelors in Biology.  Dr. Alikhan participated in research at the Texas Research Initiative during his undergraduate training.  He also enjoyed mentoring and tutoring students in Austin.  He attended the University of North Texas, Health Science Center in Ft. Worth for medical school. He won 2nd place at the annual UNT Research Appreciation Day for his work on Telomerase protein while attending medical school.  He moved to Houston for Internal Medicine/Pediatrics combined residency training. He was published in the journal Allergol Immunopathol for his research on pneumococcal vaccination in sickle cell patients. Dr. Alikhan's areas of interest are hospitalist medicine, preventative care and care for the indigent.  He enjoys traveling, following politics, trying new restaurants and spending time with his nieces and nephews.
