Moheb Boktor, M.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center, and a member of its Division of Digestive and Liver Diseases. He specializes in inflammatory bowel disease.

Originally from Egypt, Dr. Boktor received his medical training at Ain Shams University in Cairo. He completed internal medicine residency training at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, where he also received advanced training through a fellowship program in gastroenterology and served as Chief Fellow. He then joined the faculty, and, within five years, became the Associate Program Director of the Gastroenterology Fellowship Program and Medical Director of the gastrointestinal service line.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine and in gastroenterology, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2019.

His research interests include Crohn's disease, inflammatory bowel disease, and pancreatitis.

Dr. Boktor is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American Gastroenterology Association, Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America, Association of Bariatric Endoscopy, Texas Medical Association, and Dallas County Medical Society. In 2017, he became a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology and the American College of Physicians.

He serves in the International Relations Committee of the American College of Gastroenterology and is active in volunteer medical mission activities.
