Biography Sneha Bhat, M.D., FACS, CNSC, is an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Burn, Trauma, Acute & Critical Care Surgery. She is board certified in both general surgery and surgical critical care, with an added certification in clinical nutrition. She joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2019, and she currently serves as an Associate Program Director for the General Surgery Residency and the Clements University Hospital Fellowship Site Director for the Surgical ICU. Her research interests are centered around surgical education, clinical outcomes in surgical nutrition and emergency general surgery, and positive intelligence and wellness in academic surgeons. She is also an active member of the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma (EAST) and sits on several committees, as well as an Associate Member of the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma (AAST). Dr. Bhat earned her medical degree at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. She completed a residency in general surgery at the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine and received advanced training in surgical trauma and critical care through her fellowship at UT Southwestern. Dr. Bhat received the 2015 Scott B. Frame Trauma Scholarship and the 2017 Academy of Scholars Outstanding Resident Award. In 2018, she earned the Resident Teaching Award and the Golden Apple Teaching Award from medical students at the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine.
