  • Biography

    Joined UT Southwestern: 2020

    Ranier Reyes, M.D. cares for patients in the neuroscience intensive care unit (ICU) at both Clements University Hospital and Parkland Memorial Hospital

    Clinical Interests: He specializes in the care of critically ill patients with neurological and neurosurgical disorders and has particular interests in cerebral edema, death by neurological criteria (brain death), and medical/simulation education and wellness. 

    Trainee Education: Dr. Reyes currently serves as the program director of the Neurocritical Care Fellowship and strives to mentor high-quality, compassionate physicians into expert, well-rounded clinicians and academicians who will make a positive impact in their future practice. 

    Dr. Reyes was born in Houston, TX, and earned a B.S. in Neuroscience from Baylor University in Waco, TX. He obtained his medical degree from The University of Texas at Houston Medical School (now McGovern Medical School) and completed residency training in Neurology at Baylor College of Medicine, where he also served as a Chief Resident. He then completed a neurocritical care fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology and is ACGME board-certified in neurocritical care.
