Sashi Debnath, Ph.D. Instructor School Medical School Department Radiology Biography Sashi Debnath, Ph.D., is an Instructor at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Radiology Research Division. Originally from India, Dr. Debnath received his doctoral degree from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. He then continued his postdoctoral work as a researcher at The Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium. Prior to joining the faculty in 2013, Dr. Debnath served as a postdoctoral research fellow in the Cyclotron and Radiochemistry Program at UT Southwestern, where he assisted Dr. Xiankai Sun in the development and testing of theranostic radiopharmaceuticals for molecular imaging and therapy. Dr. Debnath focuses his research on Radiochemistry, PET/CT imaging, translational research, cyclotron-based PET drug synthesis for clinical evaluation, and in-vivo/ex-vivo animal study. His work has resulted in over 17 peer-reviewed publications in scientific journals and presentations at professional conferences nationwide. Dr. Debnath is an active member of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging. He also serves as a member of the editorial board for Cancers, and is a reviewer for several publications, including International Journal of Molecular Sciences, International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceuticals, Processes, Tomography, Biomedicines, Plants, Chemistry Open, Healthcare, BioTech, Diagnostics, Journal of Clinical Medicine, Molecules, BMJ Open, Cancers, Exploration of Immunology, Journal of Men’s Health. During his spare time, Dr. Debnath enjoys photography.
