Han Kyul Kim, Ph.D. Assistant Professor School Medical School Department Internal Medicine Biography Han Kyul Kim, Ph.D. is an Instructor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and is a member of the Division of Cardiology. Dr. Kim is originally from South Korea and received his doctoral degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Florida in 2017. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Hypertension Section/Cardiology Division at UT Southwestern Medical Center in 2021 and then joined the faculty thereafter. Dr. Kim’s primary research interests focus on the measurement of autonomic cardiovascular control at rest and in response to physical and chemical stress that mimic exercise in a rodent model. In particular, he is interested in investigating the central and peripheral mechanisms underlying the abnormal alterations in sympathetic nerve activity in prehypertension and established hypertension. During his free time, he enjoys hiking trails and playing tennis with his wife and son.
