P. Andrew Crisologo, D.P.M., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Plastic Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in diabetic limb salvage and serves as Medical Director of Diabetic Limb Salvage for Parkland Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Crisologo earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Des Moines University. He completed a residency in podiatric medicine and surgery with an added reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery credential at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and later completed a fellowship in both diabetic limb salvage and research at UT Southwestern.
Board certified in podiatric medicine, with additional certificates of qualification in podiatric surgery and in amputation prevention and wound care, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2022.
Dr. Crisologo is a Fellow of the American Society of Podiatric Surgeons, the American College of Podiatric Medicine, and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. He is also a member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, the American Limb Preservation Society, the American Diabetes Association, the Texas Podiatric Medical Association, and the American Podiatric Medical Association.
His clinical and research interests focus on diabetic limb preservation, including medical and surgical treatment and management of lower extremity ulcerations and infections. He has delivered many presentations, contributed to the books Diabetes Mellitus and Wound Care Essentials, and published numerous academic articles related to his areas of expertise.
He also serves as a reviewer for Clinical Diabetes and Endocrinology, International Wound Journal, Journal of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, and Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association.
