Biography
Rina Mauricio, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Division of Cardiology. She specializes in echocardiography, preventive cardiology, and women’s cardiovascular health.
Dr. Mauricio earned her medical degree at New York University School of Medicine, where she also completed a residency in internal medicine. She gained advanced training through fellowships in cardiology and cardiovascular imaging at UT Southwestern, where she served as chief fellow from 2019-2020.
Board-certified by in cardiovascular disease, echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2021 and is active in teaching residents, fellows, and nurses. She is founder of UTSW’s Multidisciplinary Cardio-obstetrics Conference and a member of the Supporting Women in Achieving Greatness Committee, for which she co-chairs the advocacy sub-committee.
Dr. Mauricio’s research interests include cardio-obstetrics, preventive cardiology, and women's cardiac health. She has published and presented her research widely, and contributed a chapter to the textbook ASPC Manual of Preventive Cardiology.
