Biography John Zimmerman, M.S., CGC, is an Instructor in the School of Health Professions Department of Health Care Sciences. He is the Director of Fieldwork for the UT Southwestern Genetic Counseling Program. Mr. Zimmerman works clinically as a genetic counselor with the UT Southwestern Cancer Genetics Program where he sees patients with varied hereditary cancer indications across multiple clinical sites and practice settings. His clinical and research interests focus on the use of health technology and alternate service delivery models to increase access to genetic services. He furthers these interests through professional leadership, serving on the National Society of Genetic Counselors Access and Service Delivery Committee and the Pathways to Genetic Counselors Taskforce. He also has held leadership positions with the Texas Society of Genetic Counselors, including President. Mr. Zimmerman is a board-certified genetic counselor and earned a Master of Science degree from the University of Minnesota and Bachelor of Science degree from Loyola University Chicago.
