Dr. Sutaria is originally from India and completed her initial medical education from Smt NHL Municipal Medical College in Ahmedabad, India. She relocated to USA and completed an Internal Medicine residency at Saint Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL. She had been working as an academic hospitalist for 3 years at Rush University, Chicago prior to joining at UT Southwestern. She was engaged in several department committees to improve care of hospitalized patients. She served on the comanagement service to take care of medical comorbidities on surgical patients and also participated in the Rush pre-operative clinic. She was actively involved in medical student and housestaff teaching with a special interest in clinical reasoning and physical exam skills. She was an active member of the clinical resource committee where she worked on redesigning clinical pathways for the diagnosis and management of Chest pain, Venous thromboembolism, Pneumonia, GI bleed and Congestive Heart Failure. She brings to UTSW a strong background in hospital medicine, medical education, perioperative medicine and quality improvement. Dr Sutaria’s interests outside of medicine include her family, cooking, table tennis and travelling.
