Biography

Kyaw Soe, M.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of the Division of Endocrinology.

Originally from Myanmar, Dr. Soe obtained his medical degree at the Institute of Medicine in Yangon, Myanmar. He completed internal medicine residency training and a fellowship in endocrinology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Soe joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2016. he is a Staff Physician in the Division of Endocrinology at the North Texas VA Health Care System in Dallas.

Dr. Soe is a member of the VHA Transgender Care Coordination (TCC) Integrated Project Team.

Dr. Soe's research interests include transgender care, testosterone, lipid, and cardiovascular outcome. This research has led to several clinical trials, lectures, and peer-reviewed publications. 

Personal Note

Outside of medicine, Dr. Soe's interests include cooking, traveling, and reading history books.
