    Ngoc Uyen Nhi Nguyen, Ph.D., is an Assistant Instructor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of the Division of Cardiology.

    Originally from Vietnam, Dr. Nguyen holds a bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. She received a master’s degree in medical laboratory science and biotechnology and a doctorate degree in life sciences from the National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan. In 2016, she joined UTSW as a joint postdoctoral fellow in the labs of Drs. Rothermel and Sadek to conduct cardiac regeneration research. Dr. Nguyen then joined the laboratory of Dr. Sadek as an Assistant Instructor in 2021.

    Dr. Nguyen’s research interests include cardiac muscle regeneration, skeletal muscle differentiation, and heart failure.

    Personal Note

    During her free time, she enjoys cooking, reading, gaming, and spending time with her family.
