Biography

Sylvain DeLisle, M.D., is a Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine

Originally from Montreal, he earned his medical degree from McGill University in Montreal and completed internal medicine residency training at McGill University as well. He went on to complete advanced training in a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine and a postdoctoral research fellowship at the University of Iowa in Iowa City. He later earned an M.B.A. in health system management from Johns Hopkins University School of Business in Baltimore.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in pulmonary and critical care medicine, Dr. DeLisle joined the faculty in 2016. He is currently a staff physician in pulmonary and critical care at the VA North Texas Health Care System in Dallas. He was previously the Director of the MICU at the VA Maryland Health Care System in Baltimore, and Deputy Director of the Medical Care Clinic Center. He was also Section Chief of Pulmonary and Critical Care at VA Maryland Health Care System.

Dr. DeLisle's research interests include veterans' health care, pulmonology, and critical care medicine. His investigations have resulted in numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters.
