Dr. Sekar attended medical school at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, AL. Drawn by the clinical rigor and the opportunity to serve an underserved population, she came here to UTSW for internship and residency in Internal Medicine. She is now one of the Internal Medicine chief residents and is excited to grow her interest in graduate medical education. After her chief residency, she plans to pursue a career as a General Internal Medicine as a Clinician Educator with a focus on communication skills and clinical reasoning.

Dr. Sekar’s interests outside of medicine include Bharatanatyam, coffee, and cooking
