Biography

Dr. Esparza is originally from Chicago but grew up in Mexico. She received her medical training at Universidad Autonoma de Aguascalientes, and graduated with honors. She completed her internal medicine training at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Dr. Esparza pursued her fellowship in endocrinology and metabolism at UTSW. During her fellowship, she participated in lipid research and her passion for education and clinical research led her to stay as faculty at UTSW. Her clinical practice emphasizes on a patient-centered approach in treating obesity, diabetes and other metabolic disorders to help her patients achieve their goals. Dr. Esparza’s interests outside medicine include spending time with family and friends, dancing and horseback riding.
