Mu-Han Lin, Ph.D. Titles and Appointments Senior Director of Clinical Physics Professor Schools Medical School Departments Radiation Oncology Biography Mu-Han Lin, Ph.D., is a Professor in UT Southwestern Medical Center’s Department of Radiation Oncology. She is faculty in the Department’s Division of Medical Physics & Engineering and holds the title of Senior Director of Clinical Physics. Additionally, she serves as the lead physicist for the head and neck radiation oncology service. Dr. Lin earned both her master’s degree and Ph.D. in medical physics from National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan. Following her doctoral studies, she completed her medical physics residency training at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Since joining UT Southwestern, Dr. Lin has had extensive teaching experience, including serving as a mentor and instructor for the Clinical Medical Physics Residency Program on topics such as radiation physics, adaptive radiation therapy through the Ethos adaptive treatment platform, and treatment planning. She also serves as an instructor for UT Southwestern’s Medical Physics Certificate Program and the Biomedical Engineering Graduate Program, leading topics on radiation safety and treatment planning, respectively. In 2023, she was a committee chair for the Department of Radiation Oncology’s X-Ray Guided Online Adaptive Radiation Therapy Symposium, a day-long course for over 150 attendees focused on exploring workflows, challenges, and implementation of X-ray-based adaptive radiation therapy to improve outcomes. Dr. Lin currently serves on the editorial board for the Therapeutic Radiation and Oncology (TRO) journal. She is also a guest associate editor of the prestigious journal, Medical Physics, and is an active reviewer for numerous high-impact journals, including Practical Radiation Oncology, the International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology, and Physics, and the Journal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics. Additionally, Dr. Lin has given many international and national invited lectures on various topics, including adaptive radiotherapy, treatment planning, and artificial intelligence.
