  • Biography

    Anthony Setiawan, M.D., is a Faculty Associate of Radiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Community Radiology Division.

    Before transitioning to a Faculty Associate in April 2024, Dr. Setiawan was a Professor of Radiology in the Abdominal Imaging Division and served as Director of Abdominal Imaging at Parkland Hospital. His clinical interests include cancer and radiology, with a special focus on gastrointestinal cancer. 

    Dr. Setiawan earned his medical degree at Airlangga University in Indonesia and completed a residency in diagnostic radiology at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. He received advanced training in abdominal imaging through a fellowship at UT Southwestern. 

    Prior to joining the UT Southwestern faculty in 1979, Dr. Setiawan served as an Assistant Professor of Anatomy at the University of Trisakti in Jakarta and also worked as a general practitioner. 

    In addition to his other roles at UT Southwestern, Dr. Setiawan is Director of the Ultrasound Preceptor Program. At Parkland, he oversees the daily operation of the Abdominal Computed Tomography (CT) and Ultrasound sections of the hospital's Radiology Department.

    He serves as a member of Parkland’s Performance Improvement Committee and the Radiology Resident Program Committee. 

    Dr. Setiawan is an active member of the Texas Medical Association and the Dallas County Medical Society.

    His research on ultrasound and abdominal CT has resulted in multiple original research articles.
