Jack Seidel, M.D. Professor School Medical School Department Pediatrics Biography Dr. Seidel started a private practice specializing in infants, children, and adolescents in North Dallas in 1990, where he continues to see patients. In addition, Dr. Seidel is a Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. In 1995, he was named Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics at St. Paul University Hospital and eventually transitioned to the position of Chief of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern University Hospitals. He led the department for 19 years until 2014 when Dr. Seidel became the Medical Director of the Newborn Nursery at UT Southwestern’s new Clements University Hospital. In 1997, Dr. Seidel helped found the pediatric telephone triage service for Children’s Medical Center of Dallas and was its Medical Director from inception. He continued to serve as Medical Director for this service for 19 years, including the time after it transitioned from Children's. In 2013, Dr. Seidel finished serving a four year term on the Regional Board for United Healthcare Children’s Foundation where he provided guidance on the allocation of millions of dollars’ worth of grants to over 2,000 children with significant medical needs. Dr. Seidel has also participated in dozens of pediatric clinical research studies. From 1996 to 1999, Dr. Seidel was Medical Expert for News Radio 1080-KRLD. Dr. Seidel has given over one thousand lectures to physicians in the US, Canada, and the Caribbean, including over 80 invited lectures and Grand Rounds.
